Coming from the heals of a successfully 500% funded Kickstarter, Camlann Games and Evil Gingerbread Studio have officially unveiled their upcoming dark fantasy strategy RPG, Whispers of the Eyeless, which will soon enter Early Access. Developed by the team behind the highly popular SFO mod for Total War: Warhammer III, this new title promises a rich blend of deep strategy, dark folklore, and unique gameplay mechanics that is hoped to leave a lasting impression.
Set in the grim medieval City of Aranthor, Whispers of the Eyeless challenges players to lead a dark cult on a quest to revive the Dead Gods. The game draws inspiration from beloved titles like Darkest Dungeon and Loop Hero, featuring turn-based combat, base-building elements, and a dark comic art style. According to Slava Heretz, CEO of Camlann Games, the game’s “satisfying gameplay loop” and deep character customization have already captivated early players.
Whispers of the Eyeless will feature deep character customization and a metagame that evolves as players infiltrate the city and upgrade their sanctum. The game’s art style, inspired by dark comic aesthetics, combined with a rich narrative influenced by Polish folklore.
Those eager to dive into the dark world of Whispers of the Eyeless won’t have long to wait, as the game has been received a release window to enter Early Access on Steam and GOG in late 2024 or early 2025.
